Why you shouldn't always slow play

Slow playing is when you have a strong hand and you bet only just a little to allow and fool your opponent into staying in the hand. This is a very risky tactic! You may have seen the pros slow playing a hand, but let's face it, even they don't do it too often. You may be holding the nuts pre-flop but all this can change if a flush or straight draw or low pair comes up on the board. Only if your hand is very strong and there is almost no risk of losing the pot should you set this trap. To try and recreate what you may have seen on TV won't always work.
